Caldeirão

The loop around the Caldeirão, the collapse crater at the top of Corvo's central volcano and the island's main geosite. Inside are wetlands and two lakes with a scatter of small cones that local telling reads as the nine islands of the Azores. The lake level rises through the year, sometimes as far as the path, so the register says to keep clear of the banks. Medium, 4.8 km, two and a half hours.
