Crivo Embroidery Workshop

Dive into the intricate world of Crivo embroidery, a traditional textile craft from Faial Island, at the Horta Museum. This workshop, in collaboration with the Centro de Artesanato e Design dos Açores (CADA), offers a unique opportunity to learn and appreciate this historic technique. Documented on Faial since the 17th century, Crivo embroidery gained prominence in the 19th century through the efforts of the Dabney family, who helped export these works to the United States. The workshop consists of sessions held every Saturday from October 3 to December 5, 2026, totaling 40 hours. Open to participants aged 15 and over, the workshop is free but requires prior registration.
