The Faial Cineclub is hosting a screening of "O Homem do Vento Sul," a documentary by Azorean filmmaker Paulo Henrique Silva. Produced by the Associação Os Montanheiros, the film was shot in the Azores and Madeira. It follows the work of three naturalists: Isamberto Silva, Fernando Pereira, known as "Pardal," and Ricardo Silveira. The documentary showcases their curiosity, persistence, and research efforts that lead to new discoveries about the natural world, featuring spiders, volcanic caves, and island landscapes. The screening takes place on October 8th at 21:00 in the auditorium of the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive in Horta, and will be followed by a conversation with the author.
