Miradouro das Lagoas - Poço do Bacalhau

From the maars of the central plateau west to Fajã Grande, ending near the Poço do Bacalhau and its waterfall of about 90 metres. It starts at the Lagoa Negra, the deepest lake in the archipelago at 108 metres, and crosses the Morro Alto e Pico da Sé reserve, where cushions of peat moss grow among the endemic laurel scrub. High ground with its own weather; check the forecast. Hard, 7 km, three hours.
