The island's short one, and the only route the register grades easy: an hour from the Holy Spirit chapel in the middle of Luz down to the Portinho da Folga on the south coast. It follows the regional road for 600 metres, turns off onto a dirt path and crosses vineyards to the shore, then runs along the coast through seaside goldenrod and African tamarisk. Easy, 2.1 km, one hour.
