From the vineyards above Santa Cruz down to the sea at Barro Vermelho. It begins at the old Bom Jesus schoolhouse and crosses the wine landscape of Bom Jesus and Achada, where the vines sit in thousands of square basalt corrals. On the coast it passes the 23-metre Ponta da Barca lighthouse and a viewpoint over the corrals around the airport runway. Medium, 6.6 km, two and a half hours.
