The climb to the rim of the Caldeira and round it, a loop out of the church in Luz. The rim carries the island's highest point at 405 m, and on a clear day a view of the central group; inside are two small hydromagmatic cones and, underground, the Furna do Enxofre, a cavern some 194 m across. Japanese cedar covers the inner slopes, the largest stand of forest on Graciosa. Hard, 9.7 km, three and a half hours.
