Festival de Cordas: Orlando Martins Solo Debut

The Festival de Cordas in Madalena, Pico, is proud to present the solo debut of Orlando Martins. After more than thirty years of performing with folk groups and bands, this marks his first solo stage appearance. Orlando, who began playing guitar as a child influenced by a neighbor, was drawn into folk music at the age of 12. This year, under the artistic direction of Terry Costa, Orlando will perform a selection of his favorite tunes, from traditional Azorean songs to other musical influences. The concert will also feature an original composition by Orlando, premiering at this event. Videos of him playing at various scenic spots on Pico will be shared on the festival's official Facebook page before the concert on October 3.
