Ponta da Ilha

The walk out to Ponta da Ilha, the eastern tip of Pico, past the 1854 chapel of Nossa Senhora de Cima da Rocha and through vineyards to the lighthouse at Manhenha. Much of it crosses bare basalt with a genuinely uneven surface, which is why the register grades a six-kilometre coastal walk with almost no climb as hard. Three hours.
