A short descent from the Terra Alta viewpoint to the centre of Santo Amaro, on what was once the main road to Ponta da Ilha. The carved stone bridges and the ruined vineyard walls in the wood are what is left of that; below the trees the route crosses the small terraced plots that are how vines are grown on this island. Easy, 5.8 km, two hours.
