The long traverse of the central plateau, 22 kilometres past the Caiado, Seca, Peixinho and Paúl lakes at between 400 and 980 metres. It is a day on high pasture and peat bog, with Sphagnum, rushes, holly and Azores juniper, and the goldcrest, blackbird and woodcock that live up there. Graded easy for terrain, seven hours for length.
