A circuit out of Santa Bárbara in the north-east. It climbs west to Covão da Mula, then turns north past the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Lurdes, the only one in the archipelago whose portal faces north. A signed detour gives the view down into the Baía de São Lourenço, and the loop returns past the Poço da Pedreira quarry geosite. Medium, 9.3 km, two and a half hours.
