Norte Pequeno

A north-coast circuit out of Norte Pequeno that visits three fajãs: Mero, Penedia and Pontas. The way down loops along the cliff through heather, faya, cheesewood and ginger lily, and past the New Zealand flax the villages once cut for rope. Fajã das Pontas, the turning point, is a small fishing harbour with a shoreline worth swimming from before the climb back. Medium, 10.9 km, three hours.
