A circuit out of Calheta that climbs the Ladeira Velha, the nineteenth-century cobbled lane up from the port, and comes back along the shore. The high point is Biscoitos, where the route joins the old Caminho das Fontes that names it — the path the villages walked to the Fontes da Rocha for water and washing. Medium, 8.1 km, three hours.
