Ponta Delgada breast cancer solidarity walk set for 30 October
Azores GuideThe Ponta Delgada breast cancer awareness walk on 30 October will end with a symbolic release of biodegradable hot-air balloons. Participation costs 5 euros, and all registration proceeds will go to the Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro.
The Caminhada Solidária pela Prevenção do Cancro da Mama will take place in Ponta Delgada on 30 October 2026 at 20:30. Registration is open. The walk will start at Portas da Cidade and end near Forno da Cal.
A symbolic release of biodegradable hot-air balloons will take place at the end of the route as an act of awareness and tribute to people who fought or are still fighting breast cancer. Participation costs 5 euros. Registration proceeds will go to the Núcleo Regional dos Açores da Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro.
Payment can be made to the Núcleo Regional dos Açores da Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro by MB Way to 918 818 590 or by bank transfer to IBAN PT50 0018 0008 06197601020 64, using the description "Caminhada PDL".
Kits can be collected from 12 October with proof of payment at Casa das Associações, antiga Escola do Carvão, Rua Vítor Câmara, Bloco 4, 1.º Direito, Santa Clara. The collection point will be open from 08:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:30. More information is available on 296 288 111.
