Lagoa do Fogo

The only certified trail that reaches the south shore of Lagoa do Fogo, a nature reserve in the crater of the Água de Pau volcano. It starts by the scout park at Lagos and climbs beside the levadas, intakes and channels of the Ribeira da Praia, the waterworks that supplied Lagoa and drove the island's first hydro plants. Ten kilometres there and back, graded medium, about four hours.
