Rocha da Relva

Down to Rocha da Relva, one of the few debris fajãs on São Miguel, reached only on foot below the cliffs west of Ponta Delgada. The descent passes wine cellars and vineyards walled in basalt, summer houses, orchards and the pack donkeys that still carry loads up the path. It is graded medium and the climb back out is the hard part; 5.6 km, three hours.
