Praia da Viola

From Lomba da Maia to Maia on the north coast, by way of Praia da Viola, one of the few natural sand beaches in the archipelago. The route leaves the village past the parish church, crosses farmland with a view along the coast to Ponta do Cintrão, then drops by stone steps past the ruined watermills of Viola. Easy, 4.9 km, two hours; it meets PRC35SMI on the descent.
