A circuit above João Bom in the north-west, starting from a rest area on the regional road. Farm tracks lead out to two viewpoints, one over the north-west corner of the island and one over Mosteiros and its islets, and the descent passes Azorean heather, Hypericum foliosum and other endemic plants. Graded medium, 5.4 km, two hours.
