A circuit above Serreta in the north-west, inside the Serra de Santa Bárbara reserve and the central plateau protected area. The narrow section near the start runs through as complete a stand of Azorean endemics as the island has — heather, juniper, Viburnum treleasei, Angelica lignescens, Hypericum foliosum — and the route climbs to about 775 metres. Graded medium, 6.6 km.
