Algar do Carvão - Furnas do Enxofre

The circuit linking the island's two natural monuments, the Algar do Carvão lava chimney and the sulphur field of the Furnas do Enxofre. From the Algar car park it follows old forestry tracks over the central plateau, past a decommissioned geothermal borehole and a patch of laurel forest, with views to Pico da Salsa and Pico Tamujo. Graded medium, 6.2 km.
