Lagoa do Cerro

An easy circuit from the Altares reservoirs up to the Lagoa do Cerro, a high wetland with a birdwatching hide. The route crosses cedar plantation, high natural pasture and native scrub, and the viewpoint at its top, about 650 metres, looks over the whole north of the island to the Picos Vermelhos and the Serra do Narião. 6.4 km, two and a half hours.
