Malha Grande - Biscoitos

The long crossing from the island's interior at Rocha do Chambre down to the bathing pools at Biscoitos. It climbs through endemic heath to the Rocha do Chambre viewpoint over the Pico Alto caldera, tops out at a trig point at 704 metres, and then descends the whole north slope through the Biscoito da Ferraria protected area. Graded medium, 14.4 km, three and a half hours.
